What Matters?

People in a public area moved in different directions to their different life

I have written the poem "What Matters" in my UG days. The poem had its birth after I had a short conversation with a girl from the UK; during our conversation, she told me that she liked her skin to be tanned. At that time, I identified the different choices and searches of people.

I had a question at that time, "What is important in people?" The poem tells the answer.

I believe that the poem with its answer is appropriate in this era too.

Happy reading!

Conjoined hands of people with different race

What Matters?

In a world of concoctions

Some people yearn for black

Some people yearn for white.

In this artistic world

Complexions don't define us

Colours can't expose our true selves.

In this ample world

Our hearts with humanity define us

Not the external facade.
