Mental health is as important as physical health. Taking care of our mind and understand it's need is a kind of compassion and love we give to ourselves, and it is the need of hour. People are open to talk about physical illness, but conceal their depression in the deep depth of their heart.
Loneliness, depression, anxiety, work pressure affect the peace of mind of people. They kill them regularly without killing them. In the fear of judgement, criticism and mockery people close their hearts even to their close pals.
People wear various masks to hide their trauma from the world. They cry in solitude to get rid of the burden in their heart. Sometimes it seems there is no way to escape from their trauma. So, they opt for suicide, believing it gives them relief from their pain. But, no! It can't. It gives more pain only.
Suicide is not a solution to anything, eventhough the mental dilemma and the problem is unexplainable. Pray to God. I believe open up is one of the best things to overcome depression and suicidal thoughts. Maybe, talking to kith and kin can't solve the problem, but can give solution or show a way.
It's our pivotal duty and responsibility to take care of our loved ones by listening to their problems, without any judgement. It will be great, if we check on them regularly. Who knows who carries the burden in their heart?
Maybe, a single word of good thing and hope can elevate their mood.
My poem titled "Suicide: A Mirage" addressing suicide directly; and shows the tormenting nature of depression, which pushes the people to look suicide as an escape. It also shows the reality of suicide, a trap. This poem is to tell the world, we have to be kind to others, as we don't know about their sailing.
Even though the mere thought of you is painful,
Her pity little heart clings strongly upon you
As children cling on the cloth of their mother
To save themselves from the fear - darkness.
She can't manage the pressure upon her.
Scads of internal pressures test her survivability every single day.
She can't identify them correctly,
Horrific trauma? Or
Painful dilemma?
But a torture to her weak body and wrecked soul.
In her struggle to live alive
Amidst these tortures
She muses over the question
Whether she is the creator of all these traumas?
Or she has been created with this?
She finds no answers availing.
The tormenting pressure pushes her to feel
Choking herself is far better than
Living with these choking pressure 24/7.
At these times you seem to be a better solution to her.
A better solution to all her problems.
The real face of you is different from her thoughts.
You are not a solution,
Instead a problematic trap.
You can't give relief or happiness,
Instead can inject a forever deep wound in the hearts of her lovable souls.
You are a mirage in the distance
Only to give dismay
Not glee.
